Customization > Customizations > Developer Resources > We were able to successfully load the Discovery Service and Organization Service Metadata files in I.E. Next we opened the CRM Configuration Wizard and tried to configure the CRM Outlook Client, when we clicked on Test Connection we received the above error message. We then browsed to C:\users\John's user account\appdata\local\microsoft\mscrm\logs Looking at the Log files I see we have a 50clientConfig Log and a 40ClentConfig Log. John informed me that he had the CRM 4.0 Client installed previously, he uninstalled it then Installed the CRM 2011 Client. Looking in the 50ClientConfig Log file we see that the Configuration Wizard is looking for a Registry Key in the HKLM folder that doesn't exist any more. It looks like we are still using the old CRM 4.0 Configuration Wizard when we try to configure the Client. When then performed the following actions: 1. Uninstalled the CRM 2011 Client. 2. Deleted the CRM Program Files Location at C:\Program Files (x86)\ 3. Deleted the MSCRM folders from C:\users\john's account\appdata\local\microsoft C:\users\john's account\appdata\roaming\microsoft 4. We then performed the following Registry Cleanup: A. In Regedit Select COMPUTER in the top left window pane > Edit > Find a. Type MSCRM in the Find what section b. Ensure LOOK AT KEYS is the only one checked. c. Click Find > If any key is found it will show on the left screen > Right click that key and select Delete. d. Repeat search till it has scanned the whole registry. B. Repeated the Search steps listed above, this time look for the following key: a. CRM Client 5. To verify there was no issues with the LiveID account on the Computer before we re-installed the CRM 2011 Client we did a Repair of the Windows LiveID Essentials Program in the Programs and Features Section of the Control Panel. 6. Restarted the Workstation We then logged into CRM via I.E. and Clicked on Get the CRM Outlook Client, after installing the Client, we were able to successfully configure the CRM 2011 Client to Outlook. Lastly we discussed some of the Personal Options features in the CRM 2011 Outlook Client. Assessment ---------------- When we try to configure the CRM Outlook Client to CRM 2011 Online server we receive the error message, "Not able to connect to the CRM Server." Speaking with John, he informed me that he tried installing the CRM Outlook Client on a different machine and was able to successfully get it to configure to the CRM Online Server. We then discussed that he had some issues earlier accessing CRM Online via I.E. and that this was resolved by doing a restore of the I.E. settings and repair of Live ID. We then started a remote session to take a closer look at John's workstation. We verified that he has *.dynamics.com and *.live.com listed in the Trusted Sites. We verified he could sign into the CRM Online Organization via I.E. just fine. From here we browsed to Settings > Customization > Customizations > Developer Resources > We were able to successfully load the Discovery Service and Organization Service Metadata files in I.E.
