The Microsoft Dynamics CRM4.0
in Review
Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 introduces exciting additions, increased flexibility, and more opportunities to engage Customers with superior tools to help manage their customer relationships.
Why Duplicate Detection…
Typically, most organizations use duplicate detection in as many scenarios as possible to ensure that records are not duplicated. However, if your system has a large number of records, checking for duplicates can hurt performance. So Microsoft CRM 4.0 introduced an advanced feature called Data Management.
Duplication Detection Setting
This setting is applied to all duplicate records of organization in the global settings.
We can detect duplicates of a record when
Note:
If you enter a duplicate record within a few minutes of entering the first record, Microsoft Dynamics CRM will not detect the duplicate record.
You can check for duplicates on the same entity OR different entities. You can match one base record entity to different record entities
You can also check for the case sensitive.
Matchcode:
A code that is created for every record that a duplicate-detection rule might apply to use as part of the process of detecting duplicates.
From this you can see that you will have to mix and match a bit to get your rule just right but still make it under the 450 matchcode limit
Duplicate-detection is processed in the background. If you requested notification, you will receive an e-mail notification when the job completes, with a link to the page where you can resolve duplicates.
When you select a record in the top list, the bottom list shows all the potential duplicate records.
